I was down with dengue fever for the whole of last week. It was one of the most frightening experience I had to go through. Yes, there was no medicine or vaccine yet for this epedermic. At my age I know my resistence is not strong enough to fight it. But some how I pulled through and have only Allah to thank for His blessings.
It started only with a slight fever and back pain which is quite common. So I did not bother to consult any physiacian hoping it will go off after a few days. But it did not go away even after almost a week in bed.
I felt like my body was getting heavier and heavier like a big timber log and later I realised I cannot even turn on my sides. My whole body felt too weak that I can't even lift my own mug to drink. The mug felt as though it was made of lead. It was so so heavy and I could not lift it anymore. The veins on my arms was protruding and I was very weak. The right side of my body felt like it is breaking away from my body and I could not lift a pen.
It was then that I realised I am seriously ill and need medical attention. My daughter wanted to the doctor to visit me at home as I was too weak to get out of bed. But as it was Friday there was no doctor on call. So on Saturday morning I forced myself out of bed and true enough I was diagnosed with dengue. I was hospitalised immediately. I was on drip for 4 days and nights. After I was discharged I was still not fully recovered but had to fight it on my own. I pray to Allah to give me strenght to fight the desease. And Alhamdulilah here I am.I hope I will be strong enough to get it over as soon as possible. I took a bath with plenty of sweet smelling flowers to boost up my spirit. I think it work for me.
