Hari Raya 2007

The second week of October was a very busy week for me. I was trying to complete stitching the beads on my ‘Baju Raya’ all of last month. But as usual it never got stitched until the last minute.

In the mean time I have also started my preparation for ‘Sate’, my favorite traditional dish, which I consider a must for every Hari Raya.

Without a helper, I thought it might be quite impossible to prepare. But I was determined to serve it to my children when they come back to visit me on this very special occasion. I consider this year’s Hari Raya, extra special because it almost coincide with my birthday which was on the 10th and the Hari Raya celebration is on the 13th.

It was a double joy, because I was able to keep the bouquet of fresh flowers that my son sent all the way from the United States, until the 3rd day of Hari Raya. I hate to say this but I missed him so much.

I also received birthday gifts from my other children which I consider as Hari Raya gift too. They are all beautiful. Thank you so much to all my darling children. I am indeed very lucky to have such wonderful and thoughtful children.

I celebrated my birthday with only two of my six children. Daughter number three brought me a birthday cake on my birthday and a beautiful hamper on Hari raya day. She made the hamper herself. I am so proud of her. My eldest daughter who had never missed my birthday had to stay back in K.L due to work commit. But my second son took an effort to be with me on my birthday.

He gave me a beautiful crystal Canister, delivered personally on my birthday. My son and his wife drove all the way from K.L to personally deliver it to me on my birthday. Thank you Ayis!

My youngest son is still studying overseas. He called me very early in the morning to wish me 'Happy Birthday'.I love you Zan

All the gifts are special.
